Main Types of High Temperature Fans

1. Centrifugal High-Temperature Fan: Centrifugal high-temperature fans are the most prevalent and widely used type among high-temperature fans. They utilize the centrifugal force generated by a high-speed rotating impeller to convey high-temperature gases. Their core feature lies in their ability to deliver high pressure, enabling them to overcome the significant resistance commonly encountered in high-temperature process systems.

2. Axial High-Temperature Fan: Axial flow high-temperature fans are a type of high-temperature fan where the gas flow direction is parallel to the fan's main shaft. Their operating principle is similar to that of an aircraft propeller: gas is drawn in axially and discharged axially under the action of the rotating impeller. Their core characteristics are high flow rate and medium-to-low pressure.

Features of High Temperature Fans

1.High-Temperature Resistance:

Material Selection: Components in contact with the gas, such as the impeller and casing, must be made of heat-resistant steel or higher-grade heat-resistant alloys. The material choice depends on the specific operating temperature.

Thermal Expansion Management: The design must fully account for the different coefficients of thermal expansion of various parts, allowing proper clearance to prevent seizing or deformation.

2.Cooling System:

Bearing Cooling: This is the most critical part. High-temperature heat conducts through the shaft to the bearing housing. Without effective cooling, bearings will overheat and fail. Methods typically include water cooling or air cooling .

Shaft Seal Cooling: Seals also require cooling to prevent heat damage and ensure effective sealing.

3.High Efficiency:

Even at high temperatures, the fan must maintain sufficient airflow, pressure, and efficiency to meet process requirements. The decrease in gas density with increasing temperature is a key parameter in design selection.
